Cross Country competes at Maryville

Maryville, TN: Friday, September 27

The cross country teams headed west to Maryville TN to run their third meet of the season on a very hot 90-degree course.

The women ran at 4:30 pm and did well on the looping 6K course with a mix of wooded trails and field running. Isabella Storniolio did a fine job in her first-ever 6K leading our women home with a time of 28:53.  The next runner in for the Owls was Kiersten Keith-Pedersen with a time of 29:13.  Lydia Sterling also ran her first 6K finishing at 30:01, with Ellie Goldstein in next for the Owls women with a time of 30:43.

The Men's 8K race started at 5:30 pm and Julian Rohn-Capellaro was our first runner in at 31:18.  Freshman Seth Walker was next, finishing his first-ever 8K in 34:04, with Griffin Harvey also completing his first 8K next at 35:59.  Jonah Felde and Bassam Shawamreh also ran their first 8K races in the time of 36:56 and 38:22 respectively.  Malcolm Mitchell-Bennett finished things off for the men running 52:21.

Both the teams go back to training hard and look forward to running on Queens University's very fast home course at Mcalpine Creek in Charlotte.
