The cross country teams ran on the Royals course in what looked like a dust storm with well over 500 runners in each field and the hot dry conditions.
The women ran at 4:30 pm and did well on the fast 5K course with two runners setting new personal records. Kiersten Keith-Pedersen led the women home finishing in a new PR of 22:45. Lydia Sterling also ran a PR finishing in 23:12 and was followed by Isabella Storniolo at 23:35. Emme McManus and Miriam Kadens ran times of 24:09 and 24:16 respectively, with Ellie Goldstein in next for the Owls women with a time of 25:47.
The Men's 8K race started at 5:20 pm and they were lead by Eric Vanderford who set an 8K PR of 28:15, with Julian Rohn-Capellaro close behind in 28:28. Sam Colston was next in for the men's team running 30:31 followed by Seth Walker running a PR of 31:22. The next two runners, Griffin Harvey and Jonah Felde, also ran PR's in times of 32:20 and 34:08 respectively. Malcolm Mitchell-Bennett finished things off for the men running 45:33.
The teams will be camping at Lake James NC over the break and enjoying training on the many miles of beautiful trails. run.
