Swannanoa, N.C. - The Lady Owls struggles continue as they dropped a 75-60 decision at home to Hiwassee.
Hiwassee started the game on a 9-0 run but the Owls would regroup and end the first quarter only trailing by 2. Hiwassee would respond with another run of their own and outscored the Owls 23-12 in the second quarter. The Owls were never able to overcome the halftime deficient. Hiwassee's defensive pressure forced the Owls into 21 turnovers and they would score 17 points off those turnovers.
Offensively the Owls struggled as well. They would end the game shooting just 31% from the field, 17% from behind the arc and 63% from the foul line.
"This is the second game in a row that we have been over 15 turnovers and when you are not hitting offensively it is tough to win a game. This was our third game in a row and we just did not have great energy on either end of the floor. We let Hiwassee dictate the flow of the game," stated head coach Robin Martin.
The Owls are back in action December 7th, as they travel to Winston-Salem, N.C to take on Piedmont International University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
