        <title>[Men's Basketball] Ali Named USCAA Honorable Mention All-American</title>

        <description>Warren Wilson College men's basketball player Rashad Ali was named by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association as a 2011-12 honorable mention All-American.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ali, a sophomore forward from Chicago, IL (Washington High School), ended the season averaging 14.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 61% from the field.&amp;nbsp; He ranked 2nd in the USCAA in field goal percentage, 5th in blocks, 26th in points, and 30th in rebounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Fighting Owls men's basketball team ended their 2011-12 season on a nine-game win streak and concluded with an overall record of 16-9.&amp;nbsp; The Owls finished the regular season ranked 9th in the USCAA Division II poll but missed the USCAA National Tournament by just on team.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <description>The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team had four players named United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Academic All-Americans.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Seniors Jessica Bailey (Santa Cruz, CA) and Autumn Stinson (Washington, NJ) and juniors Marie Orton (Galax, VA) and Akiko Tengyu (Osaka, Japan) all earned the prestigious honor.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In order to be eligible for the award, players must be sophomore standing and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <title>[Men's Swimming] Swim Team Competes at Appalachian Conference Championships</title>

        <description>The swimmers of Warren Wilson College closed out their season at the new
 Spiker Aquatic and Wellness Center in Barbourville, Kentucky last 
weekend, competing at the 2012 Appalachian Conference Swimming 
Championships, hosted by Union College (KY). &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
These 22 Aquatic Owls say goodbye to seven seniors this spring, and for 
them, this final collegiate championship took place in a spankn' new and
 fast pool! The women placed 11th of 14 teams, while the men came 11th 
of 12th, with Wheeling Jesuit College winning all three crowns (m's, w's
 and team combined).&lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <title>[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball Team Defeats Florida Christian College 73-69</title>

        <description>The Fighting Owls men's basketball team concluded their regular season with an overall record of 16-9 after a 73-69 victory over Florida Christian College.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Warren Wilson trailed 34-31 at the half behind poor shooting by the Owl as they shot 33% (12-36) from the field and 14% (2-14) from the three-point line.&amp;nbsp; WWC fought back in the second half taking their final lead of the game 61-59 with 4:58 remaining on a Dan Jackson jumper.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jackson and Anthony Barringer lead the Owls with 18 points a piece while Rashad Ali chipped in with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Currently ranked #9 in the nation in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, the Owls will find out on February 24 if they earned a bid for the 2012 national tournament.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <description>The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team fell to 3-17on the season after suffering a 67-42 loss to Toccoa Falls College.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Owls trailed 32-23 at the half but a strong second half push by the Eagles saw WWC outscored 35-19.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First-year player Nicki Hagler tallied 17 points for Warren Wilson while senior Jessica Bailey chipped in with 11.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Warren Wilson athletic department would like to thanks Owls' seniors Bailey and Autumn Stinson for their hard work and determination throughout their careers.&lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <title>[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball Team Defeats Toccos Falls 83-74</title>

        <description>The Warren Wilson College men's basketball improved to 15-9 on the season and won their 8th straight game defeating Toccoa Falls College 83-74.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After a sluggish first half, the Owls built upon their 42-32 halftime lead and opened up a 18 point lead with 9:01 remaining.&amp;nbsp; Warren Wilson held a double digit lead for sixteen minutes of the second half.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;WWC was lead by junior Dan Jackson's 19 points including 5-7 from the three-point line.&amp;nbsp; Fellow Chicago native Rashad Ali tallied 17 points and 15 rebounds while Anthony Barringer and Raysean Love added 14 and 10 points, respectively.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <title>[Men's Swimming] Swim Team Competes Against Mars Hill</title>

        <description>The Warren Wilson College swim team competed against Division II Mars Hill on Saturday and lost to the Lions by a combined score of 289-131.&amp;nbsp; The women lost 157-74 while the men were edged 132-57. &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Highlights for Warren Wilson women came from sophomore Laetitia Mead who broke two WWC varsity records and earned first place finishes in both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke..&amp;nbsp; Mead broke the 13 year old 100 yard breaststroke (1:15.54) record by two seconds and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:45.08) by six seconds. &amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The men were lead by senior Johnathon Bland's first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle which was just .27 seconds off the varsity record set in 2001.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <description>The Warren Wilson College men's basketball team earned their 7th straight victory defeating Piedmont College 68-49 on Saturday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Owls lead 31-24 at the half but Piedmont closed the gap to 42-40 with 10 minutes remaining in the contest.&amp;nbsp; Leading by 6 with 4:39 remaining, Warren Wilson broke the game open on a 17-4 run to end the game and notch the final tally.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sophomore Rashad Ali tallied a game high 17 points while Dan Jackson and Raysean Love added 15 and 13 points, respectively.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <description>The Warren Wilson College women's basketball team dropped a 69-58 decision to visiting Christendom College on Saturday.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Owls came out of the gates sluggish as they trailed 39-15 at the half shooting 23% from the field and committing 13 turnovers.&amp;nbsp; WWC responded in the second outscoring CC 43-30.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Warren Wilson was lead by first-year Nicki Hagler's 19 points while senior Jessica Bailey poured in 17.&amp;nbsp; Fellow senior Autumn Stinson lead the Owls with 12 rebounds and 4 assists.&lt;br /&gt;</description>

        <description>The Warren Wilson College men's basketball team improved to 12-9 on the season after a 84-76 win over Montreat College.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In a tight game that saw 11 ties and 9 lead changes, the Owls held a 39-24 rebounding advantage that lead to the 8 point win.&amp;nbsp; The game was tied at the half 40-40 and no one could break free in the second before Wilson made plays down the stretch for the victory.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Junior Dan Jackson lead the Owls with 23 points including a clutch three pointer 1:30 remaining that just beat the shot clock and secured a 7 point advantage.&amp;nbsp; Sophomore Rashad Ali tallied 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals.&amp;nbsp; Also reaching double figures were Pat Albright (12) and Raysean Love (10).&lt;br /&gt;</description>
