Andy Fest 2012

What:  A 5K Trail Walk/Run on the Warren Wilson College Trails
Where:  Warren Wilson College Soccer Fields
When:  September 22, 2012 @ 10:00 am -- September 23, 2012 @ 10:00 am
Why:  To honor former minister and professor Andy Summer

The 24 hour event will start on the WWC soccer fields and continue on the Warren Wilson College trails system with laps being run throughout the day. 

Community sponsors for the event include Earth Fare Supermarket, Black Dome Mountain Sports, and Image 420.  Earth Fare has decided to donate one can of food to Manna Food Bank for every lap completed.  For people looking to donate, a donation station will be present in their Westgate Store one week prior to the event. 

Andy Fest was started 6 years ago to honor former Warren Wilson College beloved community member Andy Summers, who passed away on March 13, 2008.  Andy was the campus minister for student on campus as well as a Professor of Peace and Justice Studies.  He was a jovial and welcoming spirit who was deeply involved in causes for social justice.

Saturday, September 22
10:00 am -- 5K Laps Begin
1:00 pm -- Women's soccer game versus West Virginia Institute of Technology
3:00 pm -- Men's soccer game versus West Virginia Institute of Technology
3:00-6:00 pm -- Family Time (Face Painting, Tie Dyeing, and a Kid's Lap)
8:00 pm -- Camp Fire
9:00 pm -- Drum Circle
Evening -- Camping will be available on the practice soccer field
