11.09.2008 - [Swimming]

The Warren Wilson College swimming team opened the traditional
collegiate swimming season by traveling to the University of the South
on Friday and Saturday, Nov 7-8th, competing against 10 other schools
at the Sewanee Invitational. Nine swimming Owls
made the trip, each had season best times and all maintained very
positive attitudes while competing against stiff competition.
Highlights include a 10th place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle and
9th place finish and a new varsity record in the 100-yard Butterfly
from freshman Amelia Hubbard (Tobaccoville, NC). Hubbard eclipsed the
seven year-old standard by .04 seconds, swimming a time of 1:08.46.
