Asheville, NC – Warren Wilson College athletics starts a new chapter on Saturday with the opening race for the school's inaugural road cycling team. Led by interim coach Addy Wygmans, the Owls look to translate the school's successful mountain biking history to road cycling.

Warren Wilson has 15 racers and opens the season at Georgia Tech. In total, the Owls will participate in three regular season races followed by the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Championships at Clemson University. Should the Owls qualify, the National Championships would be May 3-5 in Ogden, Utah.

This year also marks Warren Wilson's first year partnering with Epic Cycles in Black Mountain.

"Epic Cycles is a great fit for the mission of Warren Wilson and our athletic department," said Warren Wilson athletic director Stacey Enos.
