The Warren Wilson men's soccer team earned a hard fought 3-2 victory over Lagrange College on Saturday. The Owls' overall record is now 3-5-1 on the season.
Junior Pat Albright tallied two goals for the Owls including the game winner with five minutes remaining. Owls keeper David Francis made critical saves down the stretch to keep
the match tight and secure the win.
WWC opened the scoring when Freshman Enrique Timas finished a superb
serve from his freshman teammate Victor Gollub in the 18th minute.
Albright put the Owls 2 goals ahead when he latched onto another
Gollub thru ball, flicked it past the goaltender, and cooly slotted home
alone in the box.
LaGrange battled back, notching a PK and finishing
from a melee in front of the Owls goal in a 15 minute surge in the
second half.
Albright sealed the victory with his second goal
on the night, finishing another breakaway with a scant five minutes
remaining.
The Owls have two home
games versus Toccoa Falls College Wednesday at 4:00 pm, and Johnson University Saturday at 1:00 pm for Homecoming, this week. Come out and support the Owls!!
