The Warren Wilson swimming team opened up their 2008-09 campaign with an in town race at the Biltmore Lake.  Both the men and women faired well at the event and Head Coach Andrew Pulsifer was very pleased with the team's effort and times.

The Owls claimed several first, second, and third place finishes at the event that saw a beautiful day for swimming.  Earning individual championships were Kayla Meier (11:20.27) in the women's 1/2 mile open water, Brendan Burns (15:13.85) in the men's 1/2 mile open water, Amelia Hubbard (22:49.00) in the women's 1 mile open water, and Jonathon Bland (26:40.44) in the men's 1 mile open water.
