Hillsboro, OH - The Fighting Owls of Warren Wilson College men's soccer traveled to Hillsboro, Ohio, to face off against the Patriots of Southern State Community College. The Owls got off to a fast start, by creating three great scoring chances, however the Patriots denied them on all three. The Patriots had a couple of chances early as well, however, Goalkeeper, Laszlo Reed, snuffed them out. The scoring was opened by Ansel Sherman, who brought the ball up the entire left flank and found an opening in the far side of the goal. Ethan Vanderbleek got the assist. Jake Einstein scored next on a great though-ball assist by Bergan West. Evan Gammons scored next on a great pass from Einstein. These were the first collegiate goals by all three of the Owls players! Sherman added one more before Halftime, with a score of 4-0 with the Owls ahead.

The second half, the Owls came out looking to possess the ball and work to create scoring chances by building the attack out of the back. The Patriots took advantage with a quick counter attack goal while the Owls were figuring out their tactics. A red card on the Patriots put them down to 10 players. The Owls matched them to finish the game 10 v 10. Sherman scored his hat trick goal when he went down the right flank and took the ball into the box and placed in the far side net, which was also the hat trick assist for Einstein. The Owls scored the final goal of the game with a great give and go play down the middle resulting in the second goal for Einstein, and an assist for Gammons.

The Owls look to keep the winning alive and trending when the kick off in Tennessee against Crown College this weekend.
